Legion Saga Trilogy - Steam Edition
Legion Saga is a series of free JRPGs that is heavely inspired by the Suikoden series by Konami. The Trilogy was created by Kamau (Matt Glanville) in the early 2000 and they quickly gain in popularity due to the extensive storyline and memorable characters.
Steam Edition
Playing these old games today can be a bit of a challenge if you are not familliar with Rpg Maker 2000 and its requirement. The creation of this "Steam Edition" is to make it easier to play the game without having to hunt down the dependencies files yourself.
The use of the term "Steam Edition" is mostly a reference to these games being converted into the Rpg Maker 2000 Value!+ engine. Which is the official Steam Version of this old game engine.

How to play
The first method is to the use the EasyRPG Player
Version 0.8 is included with the download package of the games. Simply launch the Player.exe that is located at the root of the directory and you are good to go.
The second method is to use the RPG_RT.exe.
This is the executable that is coming directly from the game engine.
Using the RPG_RT.exe comes with some downside:
- FullScreen of RM2K games is not optimal for modern hardware (unlike RM2K3 games)
- Battle Animation can play way too fast if you have a monitor that support High Framerates
- Gamepad support may not be the best.
If you plan to use this method, I recommend playing in Windowed Mode and then using something like the Lossless Scaling in order to Fullscreen the game properly.
To run the game in Windowed Mode at boot:
- Open a Windows Terminal at the location of the game you want to play
- Type the following command: RPG_RT.exe "NormalPlay" "ShowTitle" "Window"
